Plain terms for buying from Pop’s Barn. Placing an order means you’re good with these.
What you’re buying
One-of-a-kind, mostly hand-milled slabs and wood products, each sold individually. Photos, dimensions, and board-foot figures are as accurate as we can make them, but they’re taken by hand on rough stock — treat measurements as close, not laser-exact. Color and figure vary with light and finish.
Pricing
Prices are in US dollars and set by species, size, and thickness. We may re-price stock as the market moves; the price that counts is the one on the listing when you check out.
Reserving & paying
A 25% deposit reserves a slab; the balance is due at pickup. Payment is handled by our secure checkout — we don’t see or store your full card number. See the Deposit & Refund page for the refund rules.
Pickup, title & risk
Slabs are pickup at the barn in New Jersey, by appointment. We’ll help you load — we’ve got the telehandler. Title and risk of loss pass to you once the slab leaves with you. We don’t ship large slabs; for smaller items, ask and we’ll see what’s reasonable.
Custom & milling work
We do custom cuts, milling, and kiln-finishing. Custom work is quoted per job, may require its own deposit, and timelines depend on the wood and the weather. Nothing’s final until we both agree on it in writing (email’s fine).
The nature of the material
Air-dried and kiln-dried wood continues to move, check, and crack. Knots, voids, bark inclusions, and color shifts are features of live-edge wood, not flaws. We don’t warranty against the wood being wood.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any order is capped at what you paid for that order. We’re a sawmill, not a manufacturer of guarantees.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Changes
We may update these terms; the version on the site at the time of your order is the one that applies. Questions? Use our Contact page.
