Shagbark hickory — wild grain, big color swings from pale sap to deep brown, and tough as nails. 9/4 cut, 129″ long and 14–16″ wide, about 30 board feet. Long and narrow — a natural for a bench, a shelf, or a console. Air-drying for now — reserve it and let it season, or take it green and dry it yourself. One of a kind: when it’s gone, it’s gone.
